It doesn’t matter whether you’re organising an eSports event or a decadent pudding week – creating a successful pop-up always requires planning and creativity by the bagful. Luckily, we’re resourceful types here at ticketscript, so we’ve come up with a few tips to help make your pop-up a roaring success.
1. Shout from the rooftops
Once you’ve got a vague idea of what you’d like to do, it’s time to start having a serious think about marketing. Emphasise the fact that your pop-up won’t be around forever and insert a ‘last chance to see’ message into your promotional material – people are more likely to check out your event if you market it as a rare opportunity.
2. Do your research
While almost all pop-ups remain temporary affairs, everything on the web lives forever, so get online and check out other events that have created a lasting buzz. See if you can pick out any ‘best practice’ ideas; you might even be able to contact other organisers who can give you advice.
3. You do you
Although it’s good idea to borrow from the best, there’s a fine line between learning from a great example and stifling your creativity by sticking to someone else’s blueprint. Believe in yourself and try to develop a unique selling point – this could be anything from a guest performance to a free juggling workshop.
4. Don’t go it alone
Getting help will always make your pop-up better. This might mean reaching out and collaborating with a brand who can give you sponsorship and support, or perhaps asking friends to advertise your plans across their networks. If your event is unusually large or you’re on a tight budget, you might also want to find some volunteers.
