We get to work with an incredible range of people at ticketscript – people with all kinds of passions and hobbies. While some of our clients may be event organisers by trade with event management experience across a number of event genres and subjects, many of our clients’ events businesses stem from their own passions.
Whether it’s cars, animals, theatre, cinema, music, fishing, art, antiques, food, drink, or something more niche still, some of our favourite clients are those who do what they do because they want to share their past times with like-minded people.
What’s so great about these events? Well, they facilitate people’s pursuits that may be slightly off the beaten track of mainstream culture. Just think; what would the world be like if everyone liked the same thing? Probably some kind of bleak communist dictatorship full of robots, that’s what.
So, always celebrating the diversity of our client base, we’re giving a special mention to two from a similar world – these are large conventions with a distinct fantasy, or “alternative genre”, focus.
Eastbourne Winter Gardens: 31 Oct – 2 Nov, 2014
“It doesn’t matter what world you come from… you’re welcome in ours.”
That’s the kind of all-embracing tagline we like to hear. WynterCon 2014 is a new convention celebrating alternative realities across the Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror and Alternative Genres. Hosting the event in Eastbourne, the organisers have acknowledged the South East’s significant increase in alternative genre awareness over the past 5 years, with both the World Horror & Fantasy Conventions choosing our coastline as their preferred UK location.
Included in the packed three days schedule are such activities as:
ExCel London: 25th April 2015
Salute 2015 is run by The South London Warlords, a club who take their passions to the next level and encourages members to do the same. Salute is the biggest independent one-day wargaming and gaming event in the UK.
“Our aim is to promote the very best in the hobby. Held at ExCel London, there will be the usual traders, with some from overseas as well, along with plenty of demonstration and participation games to see and take part in. This year we have a limited edition 28mm Agincourt miniature, sculpted by the Perry Twins, to give away to the first five thousand through the door.”

So, there you have it, conventions and exhibitions all centering around tabletop, war gaming and other fantasy/alternative genre pursuits.
Independent and niche events like these choose ticketscript because we’re able to understand their needs, offer our relevant expertise gained from experience, and deliver the tools they need to successfully maximise ticket sales.
Running an event from a similar genre? Or perhaps a convention or exhibition about something else entirely? Either way, we’d love to hear more and help you make it a success. Get started now.
