Event promotion on Facebook is important to let your customers know about your upcoming event and to keep them informed. But we all know event organisers are busy people, which is why this new feature on Facebook is so great.
You can now scheduled posts with a set date and time to appear on your Facebook fan page timeline. To use this feature in the right way, it is useful to draft an action plan which contains times and dates and the content of the posts.
Scheduled posts can be used for the start of your ticket sales for example. If you start your ticket sales at a specific time and date you can use the scheduled post on Facebook to promote the tickets and show people where to buy tickets. Content could be “Tickets are now on sale for our event!“ and don’t forget to add a link to the ticketshop.
During the last few days leading up to your event you will have a lot of last minute things to do. This is also the best time to promote your event to boost your last-minute ticket sales. Now you have the opportunity to use the scheduled posts to make sure that your event continues to have promotional activity.
To schedule your post, set up your post on Facebook as usual. You can post photos, links, YouTube videos and add tags to other pages or events. Next click on the clock symbol in the lower-left corner of your post. Now go on “Add year”, add the year, go on “Add month” and so on. At the end you can add the hour. Please note that you can set up the minutes only with 10,20,30,40 and 50 and that you can schedule the posts up to 6 months in advance. Next click on “Schedule”.
To edit your scheduled posts, click on “Edit page” and go on “Use Activity Log”. Here you can see your scheduled posts. Please note that you can only change the time of your scheduled posts.
