Interview with Will Franklin, Account Manager at ticketscript

He is based in London, but originally comes from Ireland. He enjoys keeping fit and being at the sharp end of fashion. What do you do at ticketscript, and what does it involve?
I’m an Account Manager which means doing whatever is necessary to help our clients make their events successful. However mainly, managing and maintaining a strong relationship with our clients.

What do you like about your job?
The variety in the type of people I speak to on a daily basis, including my hard working and diverse colleagues in the London office!

What do you like about working for ticketscript?
Without a doubt the best thing about working for ticketscript is the team. Not only my colleagues in the London office, but also the wider team in our European offices.

How would you sum up the culture in the London office?
Work hard, play hard! Everyday we work hard making sure that our clients get the best from ticketscript, and want to use us again and again for their events. When we do get the opportunity to play we make the most of it!

What qualities do you need to succeed at your job?
Ticketing experience is a massive plus, also the ability to allow people to see what an amazing person I am haha, in all seriousness I am pretty great. This helps when dealing with difficult situations, it allows people to put their trust in you.

What tips would you give to event organisers when setting up a ticketshop?
Less is sometimes more. Have clearly defined ticket types and keep the number of options to a minimum. Do not confuse your customers!

When should event organisers put events back on sale, following their last event?
Straight away. After working in the industry now for 10 years I have learnt that riding the success and buzz of a recent event is really important. Capitalise on this, allow people to secure tickets for your next event, especially if prices are going to increase the following year. This is an incentive and also gives organisers added security of advanced sales.

What events will you visit next year?
One Love Festival 2013 and Shoreditch 1234.
