ticketscript and Apple’s Passbook

ticketscript is now fully integrated with Passbook, which is available as part of Apple’s iOS 6 update. This app allows customers to receive electronic versions of their tickets and coupons, storing them all in one place.

In recent years, there has been major growth in mobile ticket sales, and at ticketscript we have seen growth of 194% year-on-year. The demand for paperless tickets is also growing and software like this is making them easier to store. Passbook allows users to receive tickets, vouchers, coupons, loyalty cards and passes to their phones from the websites and emails of participating companies. The user’s phone is simply scanned at the event to redeem the offer or gain entry.

Passbook also offers a range of additional features, such as geo-targeting, which alerts ticket buyers to event changes. This location-based feature will inform the phone owner when they are near somewhere their vouchers are redeemable and additional information specific to the particular event will also be available. Passbook will even virtually shred your coupons when they have expired!

  • Overall, the advantages of Passbook are:
  • There’s no printing or searching for paper tickets.
  • All tickets are easily stored in one place.
  • Ticket buyers receive automatic updates.
  • It automatically displays all booking details as the ticket buyer approaches the location.
  • It’s time and location equipped.

ticketscript is currently awaiting Android’s response to Passbook and will respond as soon as they have a working solution.
