Event Professional? Here Are Two Optimisations Your Facebook Page Needs

Facebook offers a multitude of tools to help you promote and optimise your social activities. This week we take a look at how you can use Facebook’s Developers facilities to really add value to your Facebook marketing efforts – don’t worry, you don’t need to be a technical ninja.

Customised Page Plugin

First up is creating a customised Page Plugin to put into your ticketshop.

“The Page plugin lets you easily embed and promote any Facebook Page on your website. Just like on Facebook, your visitors can like and share the Page without leaving your site.”

This is great when you have a ticketshop integrated with your website as it helps drive more traffic and likes to your Facebook page.

First you need to sign into your Facebook Developer account and create the custom Page Plugin – click here for more information on how to do this.

Once you’ve created the Page Plugin you can add it to your ticketshop using the ‘notification in’ function when customising the design of your shop. Customers will be able to see a direct link between the shop and your Facebook page.

Duplicating your ticketshop for multiple Facebook pages

The Facebook Developers site also offers a way to add the same ticketshop to more than one Facebook page. This is a great function to use if you have more than one Facebook fan page, or you have affiliates that wish to sell your tickets via their Facebook fan pages.

You can read our detailed guide on how to do this here.

You could even think about combining the two and adding your custom Page Plugin to your affiliates Facebook ticketshops – just think of that.
