When customers buy tickets through your ticketscript ticketshop, they are presented with a check box in the Personal Information section confirming that they are happy to be emailed about future events. Learn how to optimize your opt-in text.
Why is there a difference between the number of tickets sold and the amount of email addresses I can export?
When customers buy tickets through your ticketscript ticketshop, they are presented with a check box in the Personal Information section confirming that they are happy to be emailed about future events. They have the option to uncheck this box, removing your permission to receive their email address information. Some customers may choose this option removing your ability to export their email address. This is the reason that the number of tickets sold does not always match the number of email addresses you are able to export.
Optimizing Opt-in Text
Without editing, the Opt-in text will default to “Yes, keep me informed about future events.” You can customise this text to encourage more people to allow you to retain their email address. To edit the Opt-in text for your ticketshop go to your dashboard, click on ticketshop and select the layout icon to the right of your ticketshop. Click on the pencil icon to the right of the ticketshop name. This will bring up an edit channel window containing the Opt-in text box. Type your text in this box and click Save. Remember to also click Save on the layout page. Your text will now appear next to the email checkbox in your ticketshop.
Try to encourage people to keep the box ticked. Personalise the text, for example “Keep this box ticked for more information on *your event name*” or “Please keep me informed about event changes”. Or give away a benefit for people who do such as a free mixtape of an artist or an “secret” preview video of the event.
