Sometimes looking back at a year can draw fear, you may get overcome with regret, and you might even shed a tear or two. However, the only tears we’ll be shedding are those of joy. We at ticketscript celebrated our biggest year to date!
We provided our solution to over 33,000 events in 2014 with the business grossing over £100m in ticket sales, launched a number of new products including ticket box office, had an investment in the business and so much more.
So what are we waiting for, let’s take a look back at 2014
We witnessed some of the biggest events in Europe including ADE, Awakenings, High Definition, Belgian Airforce Days, Brighton Pride, Groezrock, Madrid Holi Run, Awakenings Festival 2014 and EDF Energy London Eye, just to name a few.
When it comes to events, we believe the more unique, the better. Unique events are what we love, and we were the ticketing solution to many in 2014 which include London Chessboxing, Strongman Sanctuary and Mouse Taxidermy.
As the summer rays began to work their magic in May, ticketscript announced a massive £7m investment from private equity firm FF&P. The injection enabled us to layout ambitious growth plans in all areas of the business.
To support our ambitious growth plans, we aggressively grew our workforce across Europe in 2014, and have appointed new members to the board and management teams. These included James Bilefield appointment as a new Non-Executive Chairman of the Board, Matt Ephgrave as Chief Operating Officer and Andre Buren as Chief Technology Officer.
The Commercial team also saw an expansion with an influx of new Country Directors – across all European territories – to lead, manage and build client portfolios for further growth, which includes Nick Wells who joined the UK team in November.
In March, we won ‘Best Use of Facebook for Social Commerce’ at The Social Commerce Awards 2014.
The ‘WINNING!’, as Charlie Sheen emphasised, continued in November as ticketscript were ranked as the 34th fastest growing technology company in the UK in the Deloitte 2014 UK Technology Fast 50 and nominated for ‘Best B2B Mobile App’ and ‘Best Ticketing Technology’ at Event Technology Awards 2014.
Products and features launched:
Our standout product of 2014, ticket box office, Europe’s first on-the-door sales app, saw a fantastic first year. Hundreds of thousands of tickets were sold through the product, with over 35,000 being sold at a single event!
We also launched our #sellmore reporting suite which enables promoters and organisers to access important data, like geolocation, referrals and device reports that’ll save them a lot of time, not to mention a grey hair or two.
With the #sellmore reporting suite, we also introduced ticketscript analytics connect which is ideal for those Google Analytics fans. Basically, it integrates quickly and easily with any Google Analytics account – a little like how easily your Facebook account connects to Tinder. By doing so, an event organiser is handed rich customer data, which not only measures traffic, but more importantly which traffic converts to ticket sales.
And if you’re worried about VIP entries, promotional tickets, or even generating barcodes, then worry no more! We’ll sort you out nicely with our new ways to distribute promotional tickets, like our updated invitations tool, registration tool, and barcode generator.
